testing Amazon Associates

I'm amazed there isn't any configurability in the way this works..Always to the left.

When will the same integration level exist between picasa and blogger?

Review Gadget

The review gadget appears to be a just a standard comment gadget with a rating.

How do ratings get collated into a top rated posts list etc? (similar to recommended posts). Just like the ratings gadget but site based scope without the comments included.

An interesting side effect appears when a page scoped gadget appears on the main blog page, it seems to pick up the ratings from the main page (I just installed this and got some old ratings)!!

Since it IS a comment box + ratings, the comment appears in both places. It appears correctly in the social bar comments, but how do I replace the standard socialbar comments box with the ratings one (if I wanted to)?

Skin parameters don't seem to work!!

Questions and Answers

Note: The Blogger in draft editor handles javascript much better than the standard editor (no modifications necessary AND it fixes it for standard blogger by removing all the extra \n's from the code.. Nice!!

Google Customer Support Poll

Maybe I'm a little frustrated with the lack of response, but what are your thoughts on Google customer support?

A user supported help forum works fine when all the questions can be answered within the customer base.. it creates a viral network of negative energy when they can't. People seem pretty feed up to me!!

Jake's BlurbBits Picasa Album

An in-blog "gadget" example..

Configured in Design mode (Click i for options).. This example includes "highlight photo" with link (to show in the RSS feed). Album Photos are NOT fetched or loaded until the photo strip or slide show option is selected (JIT loading).

Size must be specified because it also controls the photo size fetched via the Picasa/Flicker feed.

Note: in order to make javascript appear within a BLOG POST.. you must remove all the extra line feeds (<br /> get inserted which screws up the javascript;

Global Conversation Widget/Gadget

Turns out this scope variable has NOTHING to do with the scope variable that appears on the other gadgets.

THIS one is going to be a nightmare. I'm used to people trying to talk over the same channel using the marine SSB.. yikes!! The biggest issue is people NOT being aware of what they are doing..

Scope=web name=FGC

Scope=web

Scope=Site

Ready to Pop II

We are sitting in Antalya waiting for our son to arrive. KT looks like she's about to pop so it could be any day now.

Lots of things are happening all at once. Yikes!!
